New Fallout 4 DLC Details, VR Plans, Fallout Shelter

During their E3 presentation the other day, Bethesda announced their plans for the next three pieces of Fallout 4 DLC.

fallout 4 contraptions

The first piece is entitled Contraptions, and is designed around using the building system to create elaborate mechanisms, such as conveyor belts and track kits, as well as more practical things like armor and weapon stands and elevators. This DLC is actually set to release this month; next week, in fact.

The second piece is called Vault-Tec, and it allows you to dig out a space underground and build your very own Vault. You can even run experiments on anyone you have living there (though I’m guessing there won’t be an option for a crate full of puppets, which saddens me). Vault-Tec will be releasing in July.

The third piece, pictured above, is Nuka World, the big story DLC of the set. Unfortunately, not much was revealed about Nuka World beyond its release date: August 2016.

In addition to the DLC news, Bethesda officially announced that Fallout 4 will be ported to the HTC Vive in 2017 as a VR game. No clue how that’s going to work, but I bet it’ll be neat.

Lastly, some new updates were announced for the mobile game Fallout Shelter, including some new quests and locations to explore, and the upcoming release of a PC version.

(Also shown in this trailer in the announcement for the HD re-release of Skyrim for Xbox One, Playstation 4, and PC, which is less interesting because everyone and their grandma has already played Skryim.)
