Ubisoft’s upcoming third person shooter The Division, currently in beta form, has been exploited on the PC beta version. And, according to multiple sources, it was done pretty easily too. The process simply requires the player to change some of the settings in the internal .ini configuration files of the game which, if you know what I’m talking about, can be extremely easy.
In response, Ubisoft sent out this statement via their official forum:
“Guys, so you’re aware the things discussed here are not in fact hacks or cheats, but merely abuse of glitches that exist in the game currently. These glitches are currently being worked on by the team.”
To “fix” this problem, Ubisoft would have to move the configuration files out of a local setting like the players PC, and secure them in a place not directly editable. The goal is obviously to make sure this “glitch” isn’t present in the full game.
The Division arrives March 8th, 2016 on PS4, Xbox One and PC.
