Yo-Kai Watch 2 Localization Announced

Following on the success of the western release of Yo-Kai Watch, Nintendo has announced that the sequel, aptly named Yo-Kai Watch 2, will be making its way westward on September 30th, 2016. The game will have two versions, titled Bony Spirits and Fleshy Souls (which kind of sound like euphemisms to me, but hey, I didn’t come up with these names).

In case you didn’t know, Yo-Kai Watch is a franchise that started a few years ago in Japan, and has since become the biggest thing since Pokémon. Much like Pokémon, it involves training little monster things to do battle with one another. The previous game came out in the west last year with a modest success, and an English dub of the accompanying anime has been airing on Disney XD (which, incidentally, was just greenlit for another season).

I played a demo of the first game a while back, and was pleasantly surprised by its quality. Never played the full game, though. Maybe I should fix that…
