Star Wars Battlefront Beta information released

EA has announced information about the upcoming Star Wars Battlefront Beta that will be available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC via Origin players between October 8th until October 12th. EA stated that the beta will be a technical test of the game, and will give players a small taste of the Star Wars battle fantasies that you can expect to experience from the full game when it launches on November 17th.

The Beta will be available for preload for Origin players on PC beginning at 1am PT on Wednesday, October 7th at a file size of around 11GB. Preload, unfortunately, will not be available for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One gamers, however the file size for those systems will be slightly smaller at only around 7GB.

The Beta will have a level cap of 5 in-game, and your stats and progression will not carry over to the full game. Once you hit the level cap, you will no longer be able to progress in level, however you will still be able to unlock additional items in the Beta.

The Beta is going to allow you to experience three modes across three iconic planets including:

  • Walker Assault on Planet Hoth: Fight in epic 40-player battles as a Rebel to destroy the Empire’s onslaught of AT-AT’s by calling in Y-wing bombers. Or, side with the Empire and protect your walkers while utilizing their mighty weaponry to crush the Rebel objective.
  • Drop Zone on Sullust: Escape pods are crashing down and you and your team must fight to control them. With its frantic 8v8 matches, Drop Zone is sure to put your combat and strategy skills to the test.
  • Survival Mission on Tatooine: Play alone or with a friend via co-op or split-screen as you battle to hold off waves of Imperial forces including AT-ST’s, TIE fighters, elite storm troopers and more.

Star Wars Battlefront will launch on November 17, just under a month before the new Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens arrives in theaters in December. Ea will also be releasing some DLC that will tie Battlefront to the move.

Xbox One owners with an EA Access membership will get to play Battlefront first, as it will be available through the subscription program a full five days early.

A little about me! I've been gaming my whole life, and I sorta kinda like writing! Dragon Quest series is the best, but lately I'm a shooter/sports/MineCraft fanatic!
